Nahlee Iris Smith

Nahlee Iris Smith is a 44-year-old Creative Peer Support Specialist, mother of two, and long-time community advocate dedicated to building a stronger and safer Fayetteville. A survivor of homelessness, domestic violence, and other personal challenges, she has turned her lived experiences into a driving force for change. Nahlee has served as Chair of Diversity and Inclusion on the Cumberland County PTA School Board and as Vice President of the Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority Resident Advisory Board. Through her work with the unhoused community and her advocacy for mental health, equity, and economic opportunity, Nahlee brings a voice of resilience and hope to the people of Fayetteville. She is running for Mayor with a vision of safer city, stronger community engagement, inclusive growth, and a city where EVERY resident has the opportunity to thrive.
